Northern Energy Corporation has released its Quarterly Report for October/December 2005

Northern Energy Corporation has announced that Phase 2 of the drilling programme at Ashford commenced late in the October/December quarter. The drilling to date has indicated the presence of additional multi-seam intersections in the northern part of the Ashford project area. Further drilling is required to determine the seam structure and coal quality before the implications for additional resources in this part of the project area can be determined. A conceptual study was commenced to examine the development options for the initial 14Mt Inferred Resource at Ashford. Nominal throughput options of 1 and 2 Million Tonnes per year using open cut mining methods and producing a washed coking coal are being evaluated. This study will be completed in the current quarter.
