Marketable-size carp production with complete fish feed

To reach good quality and quantity in fish production, modern up-to date technologies are needed. Recently, freshwater fish farming technologies have been using grain seeds as supplementary feed to achieve maximum production yields, however natural yield capacities limit the final yields. In neighbouring countries it is a common practice to produce carp intensively, but in Hungary due to high feed and investment costs and the absence of good quality fish feed, these methods could not gain ground. Recently, good quality complete feed is widely available in the market. Feed should match the nutritional requirements of the species and have adequate physical parameters - like adequate water resistance, reduced nutrient leaching - and should ensure goodflesh quality (Hancz, 2000).
