Conference Report ICHM 2009 5th International Conference on Hydrometallurgy, Zhangjiajie, Hunan Province, China, July 6-8, 2009

摘要

This English speaking conference is generally organized every 4-5 years and was sponsored by the Nonferrous Metals Society of China and National Natural Science Foundation of China. Previous conferences have been held at Beijing (1988), Kunming (1998), Kunming (2002) and Xian (2004). This year it was organized by Central South University in Changsha, Hunan Province under the guidance of Vice Chairman Prof. Qiyuan Chen (Fig. 1 - 3rd from left) and Secretary General Prof. Shijun Liu (Fig. 2) of Central South University who looked after every detail. This University has a large School of Metallurgical Science and Engineering with over 100 faculty staff and about 300 Masters and 100 Doctoral students. It also has a large School of Minerals Processing and Bioengineering which includes the Key Laboratory of Biohydrometallurgy with about 35 faculty staff and 100 postgraduates.
