摘要

The year 2007 marks the twentieth anniversary of the Australian Open Garden Scheme, first set up in the state of Victoria. By 1992-3, with 247 gardens open across Australia, the scheme had become national. There are now more than eight thousand gardens currently on the books. We have taken part for twenty years without once crestings the garden, hosting thousands of visitors; publicity surrounding the twentieth anniversary ensured that we could expect greater numbers than usual as there is now a strong interest in designed 'native5 gardens, like ours, and they are in the minority on offer.
