The Government has identified two port cities to build three tanks to store emergency crude oil stocks.It has approved building of strategic crude oil reserves of five million metric tonnes per annum (MMTPA),which includes 1.5 MMTPA at Mangalore,one MMTPA at Visakhapatnam and 2.5 MMTPA at Mangalore or nearby location.
