A versatile and high-yielding protocol for the preparation of genomic DNA from Capsicum spp. (pepper).

The isolation of genomic DNA from Capsicum spp. (pepper) of the quality and quantity required for analyses based on nucleic acid hybridization and/or the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has proven difficult. Here, a procedure is reported that reliably yields sufficient quantities of good-quality pepper genomic DNA from a variety of Capsicum genotypes.
