The HTA's Garden Retail Market Analysis report for 2014 caught the headlines recently by suggesting that the growing proportion of renters in the property market will place garden centre revenues at risk unless retailers find new ways to market theirproducts.Around 1.5 million fewer people have a garden or allotment today than in 2007. There are 16.8 million people aged under 45 with a garden or allotment — 13 per cent fewer than in 2007.
