Marden-organised show at 'full strength'

The enthusiasm of the Marden Fruit Show Society committee - organisers of the National Fruit Show (NFS) - has been riding high in the run up to the event being held at the Kent County Showground, Detling, on 20-21 October. The show's chair Sarah Calcutt predicts this year's will be the best to date. "Everyone has worked really hard to make the show a success. The efforts of the committee and show staff have been amazing," she says. Their efforts will continue after the show because they will be involved in restaging the competition entries in the East Mailing Research (EMR) conference centre at East Mailing (provided free of charge) as part of a festival of British fruit. It will be supported by EMR's scientific staff and local companies supplying fruit products.
