Wight Salads is a pioneer in its biological approach to the use of quality compost as a soil conditioner and fertiliser. The company has been applying nutritiously balanced compost to its organic tomatoes for the past 11 years with great success. It now uses it as part of an American nutrient-cycling system, which considers soil biology the overriding influence on soil health. This system aims to create the optimum environment for soil microbial and plant growth by taking a biological, as well as physical and chemical, approach to soil health.
