Industry bodies can ensure that students receive more relevant training by providing the courses. A common complaint from employers about new staff is that, although their recruits have been to horticultural college, they do not have the knowledge required to do the job. Usually, those employees just need to gain some experience and confidence working in the commercial environment, but it is also true that not all college courses offer what the industry requires.
