Where are you in your professional thinking and development when it comes to convincing budget holders of the value of parks? vjhis was the question posed by John Crompton, the distinguished professor of recreation, park and tourism sciences at TexasA&M University. He told delegates at the CABE Space Leaders Programme that, for the first time, parkprofessionals have a significant amount of scientific evidence to make a strong case to budget holders. "There's a huge body of science, and critics who say there is only anecdotal evidence to support the potential contribution of those benefits are wrong. It's as strong as economists arguing the benefits that tourism and building development bring," Crompton said.
