Shifts in market demands and increases in production costs are seeing many growers change what they grow and how they grow it. Kris Collins reports. For growers of trees and hardy nursery stock, a number of factors are seeing changes in the way many of them source and supply plant products to their customer base. Rising production costs is one factor. While the larger liner producers have successfully driven efficiency in their operations and adopted mechanisation to alleviate increasing costs, somesmaller nurseries are turning to cell production and transplants to keep costs down.
