A comparison is made of the performance of the two white-rot fungus,Tremetes versicolor and Lentinus crinitus for lignin biodegradation of the lignocellulosic material rice straw with amendment glucose as carbon source and 1- alanine as nitrogen source respectively.The highest lignin biodegradation was observed with Tremetes versicolor and Lentinus crinitus were 44.75 per cent (w/w) and 43.60 per cent (w/ w) of rice straw respectively.The optimum time of lignin biodegradation was 20 days and 24 days for both the fungus Tremetes versicolor and Lentinus critinus respectively.The optimum temperature of lignin biodegradation was 40° C and the optimum pH of lignin biodegradation was 4.5 respectively.30 per cent (w/w) and 7 days age-old inoculum culture is used for the present studies.The optimisation of same governing parameters show an increase of lignin biodegradation of the lignocellulosic material rice straw.
