摘要

With kit hire now a viable alternative to buying, Graham Clarke looks at the pros and cons of both. The grounds-care sector is becoming increasingly important to the big plant-and tool-hire companies. Over the next year to 18 months we can expect moreproduct to become available for hire by landscape and grounds maintenance contractors, and there are likely to be some increasingly attractive deals. This was the clear message from HSS Hire Shops, the world's largest tool and equipment hire/rental chain, which has its head office in Surrey. Newly appointed HSS product director Colin Brown explains that for his company this sector has some exciting possibilities. He says: "Hiring is an increasingly attractive option to the grounds-care sector. Buying new equipment is not cheap, and in today's competitive market, it makes sense to use the latest technology. Hiring can save time and money for anyone working on specialist projects."
