摘要

The effects of temperature and stretching levels used in the stabilizing treatment of prestressing steel wires have been evaluated. Five industrial treatments are studied, combining three temperatures and three stretching levels. The change of the residual stresses has been measure by X-ray diffraction. The results show that conventional thermomechanical treatments are successful in relieving residual stresses created by cold-drawing, although these procedures can be improved by changing the temperature or the stretching force.
