Honda Motor Company, Ltd. has unveiled its first commercial plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the model year 2014 Honda Accord Plug-in Hybrid sedan. The PHEV will be built in Sayama, Japan, and is set to go on sale in early 2013. The Accord Plug-in Hybrid sedan will offer premium technology, including the ability to run in an all-electric mode for 10 to 15 miles and a total driving range over 500 miles. It will also serve as the basis for a conventional hybrid electric version of the Accord Sedan, which will join the Honda Accord lineup in the summer of 2013.
