Hot rolling of low carbon steel strips within the ferrite range

摘要

This paper presents an overview of some metallurgical aspects of the production of low carbon steel strips by applying the ferritic rolling below A_(r1) temperatures. This process can be employed as a cost saving replacement for conventional production of drawing quality steel strips. The processes involved in the production route of ferritic rolling and hot strip properties are also detailed discussed.
