Present requirements relative to functional quality of concrete and prestressing steel for concrete reinforcement and for tension rods have been presented. On the basis of publications and results of own investigations the technological progress in producing concrete steel and tension rods in last years and evolution directions of steel grades for these applications have been discussed. Realizability and the state of home technology against a background of highest attainable state on a mass production scale have been shown.
