In this work some problems connected with the choice of the solution mixtures and conditions for dissolution of metallurgical waste-rolling scale and grinding flour samples were presented. The best results were obtained, using a Teflon decomposition beaker or microwave digestion techniques. The solvent mixtures of HCl, HNO_3 and HF and aqua regia were applied. For the determination of several elements: Fe Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn, Cd, Mn and Cr in these groups of metallurgical waste the flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS) was used. The precision of the determination of the given elements in rolling scale and grinding flour was about 3 percent, only for Zn and Pb determination the variants coefficients were higher - 7-9 percent.
