摘要

An 82-year-old man was admitted to the hospital after taking an overdose of escitalopram and oxazepam in a failed suicide attempt. He stayed in the intensive care unit for 7 days and was transferred to a general hospital wardwhile still receiving intravenous (IV) cefepime because of isolation of Staphylococcus aureus and Ser-ratia marcescens from the endotra-cheal aspirate he developed while he was intubated after the overdose. He had a good antidepres-sant response with venlafaxine therapy.
