Identification of temperature field unevenness affected by skid rails

摘要

The method of the determination of temperature field unevenness caused by the heat transfer between slab and skid rail has been presented in the paper. The point of the method is the numerical simulation of the slab heating in walking-beam furnace. The boundary conditions of the mathematical model have been determined experimentally for the selected type and geometry of the slab. The measurements of the furnace temperature along the furnace and the temperature in specified points inside the control slab have been carried out.
