Response to Letter to the Editor

The letter from Drs. Choy, Kovera, and Veltri detailing the efforts being made at the Department of Pharmacy and Health Outcomes, Touro College of Pharmacy, to promote awareness of cultural diversity in health care practices is of significant importance in pharmacy curricula. The influence and impact of appropriate communications by pharmacists in a diverse society is an essential component of this plan. Such programs should be commended, and program participants should be encouraged to share their experiences. Thank you for responding to the editorial "Cultural Competency and the Pharmacist" (May 2009), and we look forward to further publications regarding your program.
