After more than a year of experimentation with various e-business channels, chemical firms are finding that the best investment is in themselves. Many large and mid-size firms are investing in initiatives focused on improving their relationships with the existing customers and, ultimately, bringing more of their total sales online. To do this, companies are spending heavily to develop extranets, dedicated websites, which can connect them directly to customers, suppliers and third parties.
