Eight Industries to Invest 30,000 Corore to Save 10 mt of Oil Equivalent

New Delhi: Eight industrial sectors, including power and fertilisers, would invest 30,000 crore to save 10 million tonnes of oil equivalent in the next three years. Power secretary P Uma Shankar said that the ministry had notified eight sectors to collectively invest 30,000 crore towards energy efficiency in the next three years. The sectors are thermal power plants, fertilisers, cement, pulp and paper, textiles, chlor-alkali, iron and steel and aluminium.
