China to Extend Ethylene Capacity by 82 Percent in Three Years

China: China's industry experts have predicted that the country's new ethylene capacity would likely grow 82percent to 17.84m tones/year in the next three years with the help of the fiscal stimulus package. The new fiscal stimulus package is dedicated to the petrochemical sector. The additional capacity will come from five new crackers and six cracker expansions projects that would be completed towards the end of 2011, most of whicb were being carried out by subsidiaries of state-owned refiners Sinopec and PetroChina.
