Designed for cieanability: Hygienic design enclosure meets the high demands of the food industry

Alongside the latest technology, high quality requirements in production also call for optimised design measures for machinery and plant. In the food industry it is vital that equipment is hygienically designed. The aim is to establish the basis for apractically microbe-free environment through easily cleanable and resistant equipment. Thanks to enclosure systems especially designed for hygiene, mechanical engineers — as the following example from Bosch Packaging Technology shows — are now obtaining interesting new solutions for the food sector. Machinery, equipment and components for use in the food sector — including housing and enclosure systems — must be designed to meet hygienic requirements. "Hygienic design" embraces various measures toavoid design weaknesses that would otherwise be vulnerable to hygiene-related risks. Attention must be paid to ensure that all materials, surfaces and design elements are easy-to-clean: no dirt or temporary deposits!
