Socio-technical innovation for sustainable food chains: roles for social science.

摘要

The evolution of the modern agric-food system is discussed with reference to its complexity, consumer concerns and opposition to foods derived from biotechnology. Advantages to the food industry of integrating natural science with social science research (public representation problem framing, systems analysis) earlier in the food chain are also considered.
