One of the interesting things about fragrance chemistry is that you don't need to be a chemist to immediately experience structure-activity relationships ina compound - all you have to do is sniff. Even with no knowledge of their chemical structural features everyone knows what flowers, spices, or wood smell like. Throughout our lives we will all experience many of these fragrances.
