摘要

This paper discusses the important role of the Specification and Description Language (SDL) in the area of communication protocol and system engineering. We propose a new method for performance evaluation of communication software based on the SDL simulation. The obtainable codes from IEEE 802.11 and IEEE 802.15 standardization committees have been assimilated and upgraded into novel, comprehensive and standalone SDL based simulators. In each case, the simulation model is validated via extensive simulation scenarios regarding the respective protocol performance. We provide analysis, planning and optimization of Wi-Fi networks, as well as an accurate evaluation of the Bluetooth capabilities when performing web browsing over Bluetooth enabled devices.
