Holistic nursing: Innovatively addressing health care needs?

I am humbled by the opportunity to follow the 2011 Holistic Nurse of the Year, as awarded by the American Holistic Nursing Association. Those are hard shoes to fill, but I will endeavor to bring another perspective to holistic nursing that will challenge your imagination and enhance your ciinicai practice.Innovation, Entrepreneur, Jntrapreneur. These are popular "buzz" words that fill the vocabulary of the world today. They carry with them the connotation of being avant-garde and "sexy," like having a distinctive or preferred status over the general populous. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has certainly precipitated a whole new avenue of thinking throughout health care. Its list of requirements and "never events" shadow the financial stability of every health care institution. From the most sophisticated boardroom to the lowest-level worker, everyone's creativity and imagination are being challenged to devise systems that effectively address the CMS mandates.
