Max Weber’s legal thinking: Why read his Recht

Christopher Adair-Toteff has published widely in the interrelated fields of German philosophy and German sociology. He is author of numerous articles on MaxWeber, including ‘Max Weber’s Charisma’, ‘Weber and Toller: Realists or Idealists’ and ‘Max Weber’s Notion of Asceticism’. His Sociological Beginnings. The First Conference of the German Sociological Association was published by Liverpool University Press in 2005. He has taught extensively, including as associate professor at the University of Bulgaria, where he was also chair of the Division of Arts and Sciences. His most recent teaching position was as visiting associate professor at Mississippi State University. He is Fellow at the Center for Social and Political Thought, University of South Florida. Adair-Toteff is currently writing a book on the theological contexts of Weber’s Protestant Ethics.
