Ten healthcare innovations: a plea to President Obama.

Amid a deepening national and now global recession, when will the wheels of healthcare reform begin turning as the new president has promised? It is unlikely that companies can readily reengineer themselves to recovery and financial solvency if they continue to be saddled with exploding healthcare cost for their employees. In his weekly radio address on January 3,2009, President-Elect Obama asserted, "T save not only jobs, but money and lives, we will updat and computerize our health care system to cut red tape prevent medical mistakes, and help reduce health care costs by billions of dollars each year." Furthermore, according to one economist, "Given the present need to address the economic crisis, many people say the government cannot afford a big investment in health care... . But this represents a false choice, because health care reform is good for our economy.
