The 'e-Xaminer' approach: A proposed Electronic Examination System

This paper presents an automated examination system called e-Xaminer which is used for computer-assisted assessment (CAA) at the Hellenic Air Force Academy. E-Xaminer incorporates some special features which are hard to find in other CAA systems, either experimental or commercial, such as countermeasures against cheating and partial credit. E-Xaminer supports a rich set of question and problem types, which make it suitable for assessing engineering courses. Using this set we have been able to successfully transfer conventional paper-and-pencil exams in electronic format.
