摘要

It is now 20 years since the original publication of the CLAW hypothesis in Nature} but the community is still unclear on whether the effect really exists.With recent papers appearing both in support of and against the theory,and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report due to appear in November this year,it seemed an excellent time to review progress and assess the extent to which CLAW is seen as a climate process of major significance.
