Hazmat and environment notes-New workplace chemicals framework

The Australian Safety and Compensation Council (ASCC;formerly NOHSC)is currently combining the Dangerous Goods (Storage and Handling)and the Workplace Hazardous Substances Regulations and Codes of Practice as part of Australia's GHS preparation.This is an oppor-tunity to highlight the different risk issues while bringing these two similar areas of chemical control under the one system.The ASCC is currently holding discussions with key stakeholders.
