Miniaturizing Trees (To fit your Greenhouse & Living Room)

You can enjoy many tropical trees and plant subjects that would ordinarily be impossible to grow in your greenhouse, living room or on your patio after a few years. We live in the zone 5 area and cannot winter-over a lot of very desirable subjects without our knowledge of keeping them in bounds. We began about 15 years ago to experiment with this procedure. Drawing on our life-long hobby of bonsai, bonkei and saikei, we reasoned that we could allow a tree with larger leaves that would be incongruousas bonsai to grow on to a large size. Failures? Of course lots of them, because some subjects just resent root pruning or transplanting. You win some and lose some, but the rewards are great.
