Aside from its position as the most fertile unirrigated county in the U.S.A., Lancaster County is home to a 191 year old publication, which advises farmers and gardeners on many agricultural matters. Since 1821, Baer's Almanac has been providing fullyear weather predictions and complete sun, moon and planetary information traditionally used by farmers. In addition, Baer's, which unlike its competitors carries no advertising, contains a wealth of miscellaneous information on many interesting subjects, both agricultural and historical.
