WHAT happens when you put scientists, regulators, leaders of dairy organizations and milk producers together in a room to talk about air quality emission regulations? Surprisingly, you get terrific cooperation, learning and mutual understanding. On the other hand, you also get a lot of people admitting that there is a lot they don't know, because the research information just doesn't exist. More importantly, though, you get genuine hope that because there are so many people determined to find answers, milk producers will be able to comply and live with whatever rules are eventually adopted at the national level by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).
