Nilkamal,a leading manufacturer for material handling products,has entered into a 50:50 JV with BITO Lagertechnik of Germany,called Nilkamal BITO to provide state-of-the-art material handling services and commercial production has started at the company's Jammu plant.The 50:50 joint venture will see a total project capital outlay of Rs 37 crore.The 15,000 tonnes per annum capacity plant will go on stream by March 2007.It will manufacture heavy-duty racks and shelves.Forthe Rs400-crore Nilkamal Plastics,the project is a diversification to grow out of its slow growing moulded furniture segment.Lagertechnik would bring machines,train personnel,while Nilkamal will leverage the large network of sales teams across the country to market the products in the country.
