Use of Tunisia rock phosphate with organics on typic inceptisol for cotton and greengram

Effectiveness of rock phosphate (RP) as a source of phosphorus (P) in acid soils has been studied by Mehrotra (1966) and Motsara and Datta (1976). The efficiency of rock phosphate has been reported to have increased when applied with farm yardmanure (Hundal and Sekhon, 1976. Marwaha and Kanwar, 1981; Minhas and Tripathi, 1986) but no work has been done on the use of poultry. manure and biofertiliser in this matter. The present investigation,, therefore, was undertaken to study the effect of poultry manure and biofertlizer on P availability from Tunisia rock phosphate (TRP) on. calcareous soil. The TRP is a reactive rock phosphate with higher content P and solubility compared to indigenous rock phosphate.
