Evaluation of Solar Photovoltic Refrigerator for Vaccine Storage

摘要

A refrigerator with a capacity of 80 litres opening at top for the storing vertineray medicines and fruits and vegetables was developed by SPRERI, Gujarat. The refrigerator is a Vapor compression type refrigerator with operating voltage of 24V DC (Dimensions: outer (h x w x d mm)): 790 x 590 x 590). This refrigerator was evaluated at the department of Bioenergy, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University and at user's site. At laboratory conditions minimum temperatures, were obtained as 3.24°C, 0.45° and -2.15° at no load and 7.14°, 4.36° and 2.20°C at load with 2,4, and 6 thermostat settings, respectively. During field trials it was observed that, the minimum inside temperatures as -3.7°C, -2 °C and -5.8°C. Per day energy consumption during no load and load varied from 370 to 600 Wh and 500 to 700 Wh, respectively in load and no load conditions.
