Estimates of Variability Components in Bhindi, Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Monech

摘要

Studies on parameters of variability of fruit yield and other component characters in Abelmoschus spp revealed that high genetic variability and high range of variation exhibited by most of the yield attributing traits. Fruit weight showed the highestheritability in broad sense for both F_1 and F_2 generations. High genetic advance, genetic gain and heritability were recorded for shoot borer resistance, fruit borer resistance and plant height indicated that selection can be resorted for the improvement of these characters.
