摘要

An experiment was conducted to study variability and association between characters in fieldpea crosses in F_3 generation. High GCV and PCV estimates recorded for number of pods per plant, seed yield per plant and 100 seed weight. Heritability estimates were found high for all characters except for days to maturity. High excepted genetic advance coupled with high heritability estimates were recorded for number of pods per plant and 100 seed weight, suggesting their effective use during selection. Seed yield per plant had significant and positive association with plant height, biological yield, harvest index, number of pods per plant and days to maturity, suggesting their potential use in fieldpea improvement. Biological yield/ plant, harvest index and days to 50 per cent flowering registered high positive direct effect on seed yield/ plant at both genotypic and phenotypic levels.
