摘要

Tuber rot of tuberose caused by Fusarium oxysporum is a serious problem in tuberose growing area, causing considerable economic losses. The disease attains severity during warmer period coupled with rainy season. Non judicious use of pesticides leadsto the environmental pollution and health hazards. In this context, biological control is now gaining more importance as an eco-friendly method. Several authors reported the inhibitory activity of Trichoderma viride against Fusarium oxysporum viz., F. oxysporum f.sp. sesami (Chung and Choi, 1990), F. oxysporum.f.sp. dianthi (Pinzen perea et al., 1999), F. oxysporum f.sp. cepae (Sudhasha, 2001) F. oxysporum f.sp. cucumerinum (Hamed, 1999). With this background a study was undertaken for the biological control of Fusarium oxysporum in tuberose under glasshouse condition.
