Bimodal grading of kolingi (Tephrosia purpurea L.) seeds

Kolingi is an important green manure crop of South India. The reseeding property of kolingi seed helps in propagation without re-sowing often. For seed collection kolingi plants are harvested and threshed to recover seeds. Seeds thus recovered possess immature and ill-filled seeds that are not removed by processing using round holed sieves alone. Generally legume seeds are processed using round holed sieves. However, in kolingi, the seeds are rectangular though having a round circumference.
