摘要

Enzymes in soil are biologically significant as they participate in the cycling of elements and can influence the availability of nutrients to plants. The activity of soil enzymes are influenced by the nature, age of crop and addition of fertilizers and manures (Kamalakumari and Singaram, 1996). But, the studies on the effect of fertilizers and manures on soil enzymes are rather inadequate. Hence this study was taken up to monitor the level of activity of soil enzymes as influenced by continuous application of fertilizers and farm yard manure under field conditions for over two decades, utilizing the site of long-term fertilizer experimental plots.
