CO(RG) 7 : A HIGH YIELDING REDGRAM VARIETY

The redgram culture CORG 9701 was a derivative of pureline selection made from the culture PB 9825 which was a cross derivative of (ICP8863 x AL 101) x (PA 128 x TT 6). It matured in 120 - 130 days. The culture recorded an average grain yield of 1021kg/ha with an yield increase of 24.36 per cent over Co 5. It showed a very low incidence of sterility mosaic and pod fly when compared to the check Co 5. Hence, this culture CORG 9701 was released as Co(RG) 7 redgram for general cultivation in Tamil Naduduring 2004.
