摘要

The present investigation was made with the objective to study the effect of plant populations and methods of fertilizer application on yield attributes and yield of irrigated blackgram. Field experiments were conducted at the Agricultural College and Research Institute, Killikulam, (Tamil Nadu) during Kharif 1994 and Summer 1995 under irrigated condition. Blackgram variety Co 5 was grown. The experiment was laid out in split plot design and replicated thrice. The main plot treatments had three levels of plant density viz. S_1 : 33 plants m~(-2), S_2 : 40 plants m~(-2) S_3 : 50 plants m~2 and the sub-plot treatments with six methods of fertilizer application (F_1: Control, F_2 : DAP 2 percent + NAA 40 ppm foliar spray given at 50 percent floweringstage, F_3 : Seed treatment with ammonium molybdate 25 ppm + ZnSO_4 100 ppm +FeSO_4 100ppm F_4:DAP 1 percent + Urea 0.5 percent + MgSO_4 0.5 percent + ZnSO_4 0.25 percent foliar spray given at 50 percent flowering stage, F_5: F_2 + F_3, F_6 : F_3 + F_4). The experimental field was red sandy clay in texture with a pH of 7.2, low in available N and medium in available P_2O_5 as well as K_2O. The recommended dose of 25 kg, N ha~(-1) and 50 kg P_2O_5 ha~(-1) were applied uniformly to all the plots basally.
