BURKET FALLS CONTINUES TO LEAD POLLED CAMPAIGN

Contrary to popular belief, thepath to success isn't always one of careful calculation and planning; sometimes, it all begins with a simple stroke of luck.More telling than my own word is the story of Dave Burket, the son of a horticulturalist gone dairy farmer who chose farming as his own field of choice as a young teenager prior to 1960. Upon graduating from high school, Dave decided that in order to make a profit in dairying, he needed a change from his father's herd of Guernsey grades. It was then that he made the decision to travel from his home in south-central Blair County, PA to far-off Wisconsin andpurchase the 11 Registered Holsteins that would eventually become the foundation of the 100-cow, 70-heifer Burket Falls herd of today.
