Andrea Crowe and the Hi-Calibre prefix is a combination associated with enthusiasm, work ethic and a million-dollar smile. Andrea is a perfect example of how a junior member can reach success by finding good role models, setting goals and working until you reach them, and not being afraid to take chances. A perfect example she may be, her journey through life and Holstein events has included its shares of bumps in the road. Andrea faces some serious health challenges that have at times taken her fromthe barn and kept her in the hospital for long periods of time, but don't kid yourself by thinking these struggles break Andrea's spirit or curb her excitement to continue breeding and working with registered Holsteins. Andrea grew up at Broad Cove Farmin Noel, Nova Scotia with her parents- Ensley and Anne Crowe. Her father, Ensley started breeding purebred Holsteins in the late 1950's and earned a Master Breeder shield in 1980. "Ever since I was a little kid, all I wanted to do was be in our barn," says Andrea. Starting 4-H when she was eight years old, Andrea loved picking out and showing home-grown calves each year. At age eleven, the first of numerous champion ribbons was earned at the local county show.
